Work is now underway in Coventry to convert a former office block into a 96-bedroom student accommodation scheme, Residential People has learned.
Located near the popular Belgrade Plaza retail and leisure destination, developer Urban Village is behind the £15 million scheme at Ringway House which will transform the 1970’s office block into apartments.
Each apartment will contain six bedrooms for students, in addition to shared facilities such as kitchens and communal areas.
Nick Sellman, chief executive of Birmingham-based Urban Village Group, said: “It’s great to see work begin on-site as we take the first steps towards delivering a high-quality development of student apartments.
“The location is amazing, being on the doorstep of the very popular Belgrade Plaza, where there is a great variety of retail and leisure opportunities, and just a relatively short walk to Coventry University. The university is very successful and is becoming increasingly popular with students from the UK and from overseas, and there is a growing demand in the city for high-quality purpose-built accommodation.”
