Planning Permission Granted for £30m Nottingham Care Home

Commercial People have learned that work will start later this year to deliver a state-of-the-art care home at a new £30 million-mixed use site in Nottingham.

Gedling Borough Council approved plans from Leeds-based real estate developer LNT Care Developments to create a 66-bedroom development for people with residential and residential dementia care needs.

The multi-million-pound development will be part of a 20-acre site at Teal Park off the Colwick Loop Road in Netherfield, which is being developed by the Warick-based AC Lloyd alongside Henry Davidson Developments (HDD).

Nick Broadbent, Development Director at LNT Care Developments, said: “Our other care homes in Arnold, Bulwell and Newark have been extremely well received because of the high standard of our care and the homes we have created,

“Receiving planning permission from Gedling Borough Council means we can start enabling works on site this month before we start to build the infrastructure.

“Work will really start in earnest in November, and our building programme usually takes 12 months since everything is to a high specification.”

Fifty full-time jobs will be created within the 66-ensuite bedroom care home, which will also include a cinema, garden room, library, and more.

Nick adds: “As work progresses, we will start to promote our job vacancies since we will be looking to fill a range of posts.”

Mark Edwards, managing director of AC Lloyd Commercial, said: “Teal Park is a really exciting venture for AC Lloyd Commercial and it has sparked a great deal of interest from local and national operators.

“We were approached early on by LNT Care Developments, and it is fantastic that planning approval has been secured since their home will provide high-quality care for the residents who will be very much part of the community in Netherfield.”

The care home will be the first development at Teal Park to receive full planning permission, with the rest of the prospective mixed-use development awaiting the green light from the council.

Featuring a pub/restaurant, retail units, a children’s nursery as well as a 50,000 sq ft trade park which has space for up to 12 units, Teal Park is shaping up to be a significant development for the area.

Scott Davidson, Managing Director of the Nottingham and Birmingham-based project developer, HDD, said: “LNT Care Developments are a first-class operator, they are well respected in the sector and we are delighted to welcome them to Teal Park.

“This is the first step in bringing forward a range of community facilities that will serve the existing and new residents of Netherfield, and we look forward to announcing further occupiers in the near future.”
