Old Trafford Waterfront Development Reaches Practical Completion

The investment and development company Cole Waterhouse, has announced that it has achieved practical completion on a new waterfront residential development in Manchester.

Located only a stones throw away from Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, the 214,000 sq ft No1 Old Trafford residential development is also just a few metres away from the new Wharfside Metrolink stop.

Developed by Domis Construction, 80% of the 354 apartments have already been sold, and the scheme’s show apartments, designed by LOFT Interiors, are open for viewings to sell the remaining units.

Commenting on the development, Lee McCarren, Managing Director of Domis Construction, added: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working on this prestigious project for Cole Waterhouse. We were determined to finish within time and to budget and the whole team worked together to make that happen with a fantastic sprit from client, consultants and the supply chain. No1 Old Trafford is a great example of what can be achieved through positive open collaboration.”

As shown in the image above, the two apartment towers are connected at ground level by a central reception area that hosts a number of residential amenities, including a co-working business lounge, cinema room and a private dining facility and laundry rooms.

A landscaped podium garden and two residents roof terraces offer views overlooking Salford Quay and the Manchester skyline. Private parking spaces are available as well as an integrated and secure cycle store.

Commenting on the delivery of No1 Old Trafford, Damian Flood, CEO of Cole Waterhouse, said: “To complete a scheme of this scale and ambition two months ahead of programme and to budget, particularly with all of the restrictions the industry has faced this year, is an achievement of which we are very proud.

“Domis has done a superb job and the level of interest in the scheme has been extremely high, from both the local market and investors. We look forward to welcoming all of the new residents that have bought with us and are so eager to move in. We’re also excited by the prospect of having more viewers through our doors as restrictions lift. We expect the remaining apartments to be rapidly taken up.”

Cole Waterhouse specialises in delivering medium to large mixed-use, residential and student schemes. The team has 2,743 homes in the pipeline and is delivering offices, mixed-use, leisure and commercial industrial space across Manchester, Leeds, the Midlands and London.
