885 Home Development Targets Leicester

One of the UK’s largest strategic land developers has submitted plans to deliver up to 885 new homes in Leicester.

Residential People have been made aware that a revised application has now been submitted to Blaby District Council for the ‘Hastings Fields’ development.

Located in Leicester Forest East, Hastings Fields is an ambitious development scheme that will include a primary school alongside several one, two, three and four-bedroom properties.

As part of the planned revisions, there will also be newly-created public open spaces, improved cycle and pedestrian connectivity and highway improvements to the nearby A47 Hinckley Road.

Commenting on the plans, Richard Edwards, Group planning director at L&Q Estates, said: “We have submitted the new plans which further improve the design of the scheme […] The site area has increased from 39.11 hectares to 44.01 hectares and the number of proposed houses has increased from 750 to 885.”

The revised planning application is expected to be discussed by Blaby District Council Planning Committee early next year.
