One of Britain’s largest housebuilding companies, Taylor Wimpey PLC have just released their annual report, highlighting how the firm has performed over the financial year as well as what lies on the horizon.
The substantial 197-page report takes an in-depth look at how the consumer-focused residential developer performed in 2018, and we have highlighted some of the key findings from the report below.
Taylor Wimpey’s revenue reached £4,082 billion in 2018, improving from 2017’s total of £3,965.2 bn the previous year.
In 2018, the firm also saw its profit before tax hit £810.7m, (£656.6m profit for the year after tax), which marks an increase from £555.3m profit for the year, (£682m profit before tax) in 2017.
2018 also saw Taylor Wimpey’s completions – including those as joint ventures – reaching 15,275 in 2018, while the firm also saw their profit for the year hit £656.6m.
Mentioned in his letter to shareholders, Taylor Wimpey’s Chief Executive Pete Redfern said: “We operate in an industry which is underpinned by a fundamental long term demand and supply imbalance. As one of the UK’s largest homebuilders, we believe that we have a shared responsibility to create more choices for those wanting to access housing and to deliver this housing with high quality and excellent service.”
