Affordable Housebuilder Targets Growth with New Welwyn Garden City Site

Residential People has learned that the affordable housing provider, St Arthur Homes, has acquired a new site of Shared Ownership homes in Welwyn Garden City from Crest Nicholson.

Known as Willow Place, the site at Bessemer Road comprises of 15 apartments in a mix of one and two-bedroom layouts, and is located close to the town centre.

Commenting on the development, Richard Cohen, Chief Executive Officer at St Arthur Homes, said: “We are delighted to have acquired our latest site in Welwyn Garden City, putting us on track to meet our plans for growth. These are affordable, well-located homes which are such in demand from first-time buyers, so we know they will be popular. We are actively looking for other similar opportunities to acquire further affordable housing allocations.”

The development is currently under construction and due to be completed next summer as part of St Arthur Homes’ target to grow its portfolio to 2,000 homes within the next five years.

St Arthur Homes acquires, owns and manages property across outer London and both the South and East of England. The national housebuilder currently has developments in Southampton, Portsmouth, Datchet, Sutton and Welwyn Garden City, with new sites in Winchester, Wisborough Green and Bushey Heath also in the pipeline.
